The 2023 Kia Forte is an interesting proposition in the compact sedan market due to its value, its fuel efficiency, and its practicality.
A great value
The 2023 Kia Forte is one of the best values in its segment because of its low price and its long list of standard and available features. Indeed, the entry-level LX is one of the most affordable compact sedans in Canada despite it coming standard with items such as heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, an 8-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, selectable drive modes, and hill-start assist. Other models in the range can also add many features that are rare on competing vehicles such as heated rear seats, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, driver attention monitoring, highway driving assist, and rear cross-traffic alert.
A low fuel consumption
The 2023 Kia Forte is a very fuel-efficient compact sedan that doesn’t cost much at the pump. This is due to its standard 2.0L engine with direct fuel injection and its advanced IVT continuously variable transmission. Unlike a regular automatic transmission, this on is capable of keeping the engine’s speed at the optimal level to increase fuel efficiency and performance, making the Forte lively even in base form. With this powertrain, fuel consumption figures average only 7,9 L/100 km in the city and 5.9 L/100 km on the highway.
More practical than it seems
Many people believe that smaller sedans aren’t practical, but the 2023 Kia Forte stands to prove them wrong. Indeed, the Forte benefits from more legroom and shoulder room than most of the SUVs in its price category, thus making it better able to seat four or five passengers and making long highway trips more comfortable. In addition, the 433-litre capacity of the Forte’s trunk makes it able to carry a large amount of luggage or shopping and the rear seat can be folded in a 60/40 split if even more space is needed, such as for skis or other long items.
